OJAI : Bank Robber Eludes Capture in Chase
- Share via
An unidentified man robbed an Ojai bank branch Friday, eluding capture after a motorcycle chase with a witness, an FBI official said.
The robber may have been the same man who has robbed the bank two other times since January, the FBI said.
The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, FBI Special Agent Gary Auer said. The robbery was the 16th in Ventura County this year, including four in Ojai, Auer said.
Auer said the man, who wore a black leather jacket, jeans, boots and motorcycle helmet, entered the Bank of A. Levy on West Ojai Avenue at 12:05 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.
