NOT SO FAST: Heading to the county recorder’s office to check some documents, or to the building department for a permit? Think again--at least today. This morning, county government begins a new schedule closing most non-emergency public offices every other Friday to save money. Some have complained, but Supervisor Thomas F. Riley doesn’t think it’ll cause the public much inconvenience: “I haven’t had one letter of opposition.”
