SANTA ANA — A 2-year-old boy being carried in his father’s arms was shot in the head Thursday night by people in a passing car.
The boy, whose name was not available, was rushed to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was in critical condition and on life support late Thursday night, said Santa Ana Police Lt. David Petko.
The shooting occurred at 9:15 p.m. in the 600 block of North Garfield Street. A man and woman were walking with their son when a white Cadillac, going south, approached them.
“The car stopped, words were exchanged and at least two shots were fired,” Petko said. “The baby was struck in the head. Nobody else was injured.”
