A 19-year-old motorist was fatally wounded in Reseda early Saturday by shots fired by a man in a van, Los Angeles police said.
Luis Hernandez of Reseda was shot in the head shortly after midnight at Ingomar Street and Yolanda Avenue by a man in a brown van with a yellow stripe, said Sgt. Bob Weisz of the West Valley station.
Hernandez died two hours later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Weisz said.
Three passengers in Hernandez’s car were treated and released from the hospital for minor wounds caused by shotgun pellets or glass fragments, Weisz said. They told police the gunman, whom police were seeking Saturday, fired without provocation.
None of the victims were affiliated with gangs, Weisz said.
