A Lancaster businessman has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 13-year-old Lake Elizabeth-area girl who wandered into his store while waiting for a bus so she could run away from home, sheriff’s deputies said Friday.
William E. Flory, 42, identified as the owner of a jewelry store at 620 W. Lancaster Blvd., was arrested at his Lancaster house Thursday night and was being held Friday at the Antelope Valley sheriff’s station in lieu of $50,000 bail, deputies said.
The assault allegedly occurred about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in a remote desert area of Lancaster near 90th Street West and Avenue L.
After accepting a ride and food, the girl told deputies, a man drove her to the location, raped her and threatened to kill her. She later fled to a nearby house.
