Gordon Gee, president of Ohio State, said John Cooper will remain as football coach, ending season-long speculation about his future with the Buckeyes.
Cooper had been criticized because Ohio State had not beaten Michigan in his first four years. But the Buckeyes tied Michigan last month, 13-13.
Ohio State is 8-2-1, the Buckeyes’ best record in Cooper’s five years. They will play either Georgia or Alabama in the Citrus Bowl, depending on the outcome of today’s Southeastern Conference championship game.
