TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. — A speeding car traveling with its lights dimmed collided head-on with another vehicle, killing four people, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on California 62 in the desert community, said Sgt. Bob Simendich, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
Witnesses said the westbound car was traveling at a high speed with its headlights dimmed when it crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Cecilia Bonilla, 38, of Twentynine Palms. Bonilla, her 8-year-old daughter, Annette, and the 33-year-old male driver of the speeding car died at the scene, Simendich said. Bonilla’s 1-year-old son, Michael, died at the Twentynine Palms Marine base hospital.
