Canyon 38, Burbank 14--Ed Williams scored four touchdowns and rushed for 178 yards in 21 carries as Canyon’s Foothill League debut resulted in a convincing rout of the host Bulldogs (2-4, 0-1) at Burroughs High.
Williams scored on runs of 13, two, and four yards. In the third quarter he added a 13-yard touchdown reception from backup quarterback Mike Leary.
Canyon (5-1, 1-0) built a 17-0 lead, but two turnovers by the Cowboys were converted into 14 points by Burbank (2-3, 0-1) as Canyon led, 24-14, at halftime.
