Amgen Inc. announced that Kevin Sharer has been named president and chief operating officer.
Sharer, 44, was also elected to the Thousand Oaks-based company’s board.
Prior to joining Amgen, Sharer worked at MCI Communications Corp. as executive vice president and president of MCI’s business markets division.
