Radenberg Promoted in Crespi Basketball

Paul Radenberg, the freshman boys’ basketball coach at Crespi High last season, has been named varsity coach.
Radenberg replaces Chris Nikchevich, who left after two seasons to pursue business interests. Radenberg, 33, a 1981 graduate of Kansas State, coached the junior varsity at St. Francis for five seasons before moving to Crespi last fall.
He becomes Crespi’s fourth coach in the past five seasons. Crespi won the Mission League title--its first title in six years--in 1991-92 under Nikchevich, who replaced Ed Marek in 1990. Radenberg, unlike his two predecessors, will teach full time at the school.
“It was tough for Chris and Ed because neither was an on-campus coach,” Athletic Director Paul Muff said.
