VENTURA : Lone Man Flees After Robbing Bank
- Share via
A downtown Ventura branch of Well Fargo Bank was held up by a lone male robber Wednesday, who escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities reported.
The man entered the bank on Chestnut Avenue at 2:40 p.m., simulated a gun under his clothing and demanded money from a teller, said Ventura Police Officer Dave Matz. Witnesses did not report actually seeing a weapon, he said.
After receiving an undisclosed sum of money, the robber fled through the bank’s back door, and was last seen speeding away in a car, Matz said.
FBI Special Agent Gary Auer said it was the 45th bank robbery in Ventura County this year.
