President Bush’s Campaign

“No Campaign Sleaze, Bush Tells His Staff” (April 11) is like a boxer having kicked his opponent in the groin and rabbit-punched him repeatedly with Willie Horton tactics suddenly saying, “Now we’ll have no more of that,” as if he has not already orchestrated with his media friends one after another attacks on any Democrat who emerges from the crowd as a possible threat to the sleaziest, scandal-ridden White House mess of lies and vetoes and denials and cover-ups that has all of us, like Diogenes, out with our lanterns looking for an honest man.
