COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Season-High 109 Points Help Cypress Advance to Title Game

Cypress scored a season-high number of points in a 109-77 victory over Naval Air Station of Miramar in a nonconference men’s basketball game Friday in the Cypress Mini Tournament.
Cypress (7-3) plays Cerritos (9-2) in the title game at 8 tonight at Cypress.
Sam Sabbara scored 23 and Flip Banks added 12 for Cypress.
In the San Jose Tournament:
Orange Coast 61, Contra Costa 58--Jeff Porter scored 17 points and Michael Wenzlaff added 11 for Orange Coast.
In the Riverside Holiday Tournament:
San Diego Mesa 82, Golden West 77--Greg Evans scored 15 but Golden West (6-7) lost.
In the Santa Barbara Tournament:
Allan Hancock 74, Saddleback 68--Dee Boyer scored 20 points but Saddleback lost in the championship semifinal round.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Rancho Santiago 106, Pomona Pitzer JV 47--Rancho Santiago, coming off Wednesday’s 94-72 loss to Cerritos, won with ease at home. J.J. Ballesteros had game-high 16 and Eric Dahl added 15 for Rancho Santiago (8-4), the two-time defending state champion.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Fullerton 68, Cerritos 52--Sandy Bodnar scored 15 points as host Fullerton (6-4) had four players score in double figures. Sig Lo and Hollie Keeton had 13 each and Monique Grace had 11 for the Hornets.
Keeton also had a game-high 14 points.
