A fire in a convenience store spread through an attic into two other businesses at a Canoga Park mini-mall Thursday, causing $175,000 in damage, authorities said.
The fire started about 12:30 a.m. at the 7 Plus Food Market at 20500 Sherman Way at Mason Avenue. Flames were shooting through the building’s roof when firefighters arrived, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek. It took 36 firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the blaze.
Also damaged was a pizza restaurant and a hair salon, Marek said. Damage was estimated at $100,000 to the structure and $75,000 to the contents, he said.
There were no injuries. The cause of the blaze was under investigation, Marek said.
