NAACP Honors: Los Angeles Theatre Center’s “Blues in the Night” and the Doolittle Theatre’s “The Piano Lesson” won top honors in the latest round of Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP theater awards. The West Coast Ensemble’s “Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery” was the big winner in the smaller-theater categories. “The Phantom of the Opera” won six awards, including one for actor Robert Guillaume and five in technical categories.
