Why do academic educators in Orange feel it’s helping Latino children by providing bilingual programs?
These are facts: This is the United States. English is the United States’ primary language.
We are doing a greater disservice to these children by coddling them into believing they can use Spanish as a primary language.
This article (“Bilingual Report Cards Aggravate Some Parents,” Nov. 23) claims that the Latino student population in the Orange Unified School District is up 28%.
These children need to be taught the language of their country. Only in this way do they have a chance of future success in this country.
