Capistrano Valley (25-4) defeated San Clemente, 9-5, in league play and went on to win the title. San Clemente (26-4), which had been favored to win the league championship, also lost to Dana Hills, finished in third place and was forced to play a wild-card playoff match.
Tonight’s match will feature two of the best players in the Southern Section: Capistrano Valley junior Jeremy Braxton-Brown, the South Coast League MVP, and San Clemente senior Jeremy Laster, who is the youngest member of the U.S. junior national team.
