Chapman Loses Exhibition to High Five America

ORANGE — Anthony Thomas made two free throws with no time left to give High Five America an 91-89 victory over Chapman Wednesday in an exhibition basketball game at Chapman.
Thomas, who finished with a game-high 32 points, rebounded his own missed shot and was fouled by Chapman’s Jeff Gardner as he tried to shoot again.
Senior Rog Middleton scored a team-high 23 points, 19 in the first half, for Chapman. Middleton was 13 of 16 on free-throw attempts, all in the first half.
Brian Kenney and Vern Broadnax each scored 14 also for Chapman. Kenney, a junior transfer from Cypress College, was seven-of-nine from the field. Broadnax, a junior guard from Rancho Santiago College, made all four three-pointer he took.
