COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titans Lose 12th Volleyball Match in a Row

Despite Becky Howlett’s 29 kills, Cal State Fullerton lost its 12th consecutive women’s volleyball match, falling to Fresno State, 15-12, 15-10, 12-15, 15-9, Friday at Titan Gym.
Stephanie Scofield had eight blocks, the most by a Titan this season, and 16 kills and 16 digs. Other Fullerton standouts included freshman Stacey Stanek (56 assists) and Angela Lightfoot (14 digs).
Paola Paz Soldan had 20 kills for 18th-ranked Fresno State (20-9, 10-5).
Fullerton (6-25, 1-12) is 2-13 against the Bulldogs.
Fullerton plays host to third-ranked Pacific at 5 p.m. today. The Titans have never beaten the Tigers in the 16 meetings between the schools.
In another Big West Conference women’s volleyball match:
UC Irvine 3, Utah State 0--Scotleen Risley had 12 kills as the Anteaters (8-14, 3-11) won at home. The Aggies fell to 2-24, 0-13.
