Kings Go All Out to Make Richmond Feel Needed

Mitch Richmond, the newest Sacramento King, looked on in shock as his new team was beaten by his former team, the Golden State Warriors, 153-91 Saturday night at Oakland.
Richmond, a star for three seasons with the Warriors, went to the Kings in the trade for Billy Owens on Friday. Shortly before the game, the Warriors signed the rookie from Syracuse. Neither played.
The Warriors barely missed the NBA record for biggest margin of victory. That was only part of the story. At halftime the Warriors led, 88-41, then extended that to 100-46 before Coach Don Nelson went to his bench.
In 1972, the Lakers beat the Warriors, 162-99.
The Kings, who were 1-40 on the road last season, missed eight of their first 10 shots to fall behind, 20-5. It got no better.
