Hawaiian Gardens : Select-Area Smoking Ban Extended to All City Sites
- Share via
Smoking has been banned in all buildings owned and operated by the city of Hawaiian Gardens.
Without any opposition or discussion, the City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to extend a smoking ban approved earlier this year for city buildings.
Previously, the council had adopted resolutions that banned smoking only in selected areas. A resolution passed in 1988 prohibited smoking in most areas of City Hall, but not in offices and those sections that were marked as designated smoking areas.
The council imposed a smoking ban for the City Hall complex in April. Tuesday’s resolution, however, extends the ban to all buildings owned and operated by the city, including the three buildings at the City Hall complex and two facilities at Lee Ware Park.
