THICK & THIN: While the lion’s share of Orange County’s housing growth is in the south, U.S. census figures show that most cities there remain far below the rest of the county in density. . . . Older cities in the north, such as La Palma and Stanton, have relatively high density. “We don’t feel dense, because we have so many nice, clean homes,” says La Palma City Manager Pamela Gibson. “But it might have been nice if we’d planned years ago for a little more open space.”
