Ex-Times Writer Parachini Named to New ACLU Post

A former Los Angeles Times reporter has been named to the newly created position of director of research and public affairs for the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, the Los Angeles organization said Monday.
ACLU executive director Ramona Ripston said that Allan Parachini, 45, will help develop a range of position papers and other initiatives for the ACLU, as well as the group’s media strategies. Parachini left The Times in August after 12 years with the paper.
