Woman’s Slaying

The Orange County district attorney has a double standard for prosecuting crime. Example: If a woman is killed by two men breaking into her hotel room at night, they should be prosecuted for murder, unless they happen to be sheriff’s deputies, in which case they should be given a medal.
Your editorial, “Options to Deadly Force” (Sept. 26), is too weak. What Laura Harrison needed was “tea and sympathy,” not aggressive, poorly trained, poorly supervised and heavily armed Orange County sheriff’s deputies.
