ROUNDUP : Northridge Discovers Offense in Soccer Rout

In the midst of a season in which its offense has struggled, the Cal State Northridge men’s soccer team fired up its scoring machine in a 12-0 win over Southern California College in a nonconference match at North Campus Stadium on Tuesday night.
Northridge, which had scored 17 goals in its previous eight matches, scored six goals in each half to improve to 6-2.
Bobby Reyes had three goals, moving into the school’s career top 10. Reyes is tied with Thor Lee--now a Northridge assistant--for eighth on the list with 19 goals.
Steve Linhart came off the bench to score two goals for the Matadors.
Southern California College is 4-7.
In another men’s soccer match:
Mission 3, Cal Lutheran B team 3--Mission’s Armando Garcia scored two goals and Matt Turner added another but the Free Spirit (2-4-1) blew a 3-1 halftime lead in a nonconference match at home.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Cal Lutheran d. La Sierra, 15-13, 15-10, 15-4--Brenda Frafjord had six kills and three service aces to lead Cal Lutheran in a nonconference match at home.
Jennifer Wiley and Ann Mumma each had four kills for CLU (6-5). La Sierra is 5-1.
Ventura d. Santa Barbara, 15-2, 15-5, 15-7--Vanessa Hackett had nine kills and Ashley Armstrong added six kills and one stuff block to lead the Pirates (5-0, 4-0 in conference play) to a Western State Conference win at Ventura.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Royal d. Camarillo, 15-10, 15-8, 15-6--Middle hitter Jennifer Hamilton had 16 kills and setter Tracy Tahy had 29 assists and six kills to lead Royal (5-0, 3-0) in a Marmonte League match at home.
Agoura d. Simi Valley, 15-3, 15-12, 15-10--Tammy Barrus had eight kills and Tracy Heflin added seven to help the Chargers (3-2, 2-1) beat the Pioneers (0-3 in league play) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley.
Poly d. Monroe, 8-15, 15-6, 15-3, 15-11--Tami O’Dell had 15 kills and Lisa Giatti added nine to lead Poly (4-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference opener at home.
L.A. Lutheran d. Ribet Academy 5-15, 15-8, 15-5, 7-15, 15-11--Susan Riddle had eight kills to lead the visiting Lions (4-0, 3-0) in a Heritage League match.
La Reina d. Chaminade, 8-15, 15-7, 15-12, 12-15, 15-11--Amy Crotty had 23 kills to lead the Regents (4-1) in a nonleague match at Chaminade.
MEN’S WATER POLO
Valley 12, Santa Monica 7--Robert Brown had four goals and Steve Barron three for Valley (9-3-3) in a Western State Conference match at Santa Monica.
