DECATUR, Ga. — Civil rights activist Hosea Williams alleged Tuesday that two felony indictments charging him with leaving an auto accident scene are a ploy to oust him from the county commission he was elected to last fall.
De Kalb Dist. Atty. Bob Wilson has “never charged nobody for a felony in a fender-bender since he’s been in office,” Williams said after a meeting of the De Kalb County Commission. He called the charges a “vicious ploy” to remove him from the seat. Wilson, who announced the indictment Monday, could not be reached for comment.
