British Airways’ Boeing Order Worth Up to $6.85 Billion: The airline ordered up to 30 Boeing 777 jetliners and two dozen 747 jumbo jets in a deal worth up to $6.85 billion. The London-based airline said it had ordered 15 of the medium- to long-range 777s, Boeing’s newest plane, for delivery in 1995 and took options for another 15. The world’s largest aircraft maker launched the 777 last October after United Airlines ordered 68 of the twin-engine planes.
