A 13-year-old Belevedere Junior High School student was shot and killed in East Los Angeles Monday after arguing with three older males, authorities said.
The teen-ager, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was shot outside a grocery store at City Terrace Drive and Pomeroy Street, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. He was not a gang member and the shooting is not considered gang related, deputies said.
After the 5:30 p.m. argument, the youth tried to run away. Deputies said a 17-year-old and two men chased him, and one of the three shot him in the upper torso.
