Plan Will Fight Car Thieves: Tourists driving rental cars in Florida are an easy mark for robbers, and two of the nation’s biggest car rental agencies--Hertz and Budget Rent a Car--said they are stripping their vehicles of identifying bumper stickers to protect customers. But Miami police said removing identifying stickers from the cars won’t fool most robbers. All Florida rental cars carry special license plates that begin with a “Y” or have the word lease on them, police said.
