In his letter July 14 about “white bashing,” Alan Stanfill brings up the argument that “blacks made slaves of blacks long before white men did.”
At the end of the recent PBS discussion “Crisis in the Arts,” a spokesman for the Heritage Foundation felt compelled to mention the fact that blacks enslaved blacks in Africa long before we did, although the subject was never even mentioned.
Is this being taught in Racism 1A? Why would anyone try to absolve slavery in America?
