Cubic Wins New York Contract: A New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority selection committee has recommended that San Diego’s Cubic Corp. be awarded a $179-million contract to outfit New York subways and buses with automatic fare collection systems. The bid, if given final approval by the full transit board, would result in a four-year contract that would create 300 new jobs at Cubic. Cubic would outfit some subway stations and buses with card-activated fare collection systems.
