Dr. Erwin D. Pratt, who practiced medicine in Burbank for 47 years, has died at his Burbank home. He was 94.
Pratt died Tuesday of complications of a stroke, said his grandson, Dr. Mark Pratt.
Born in St. Helena, Calif., the elder Pratt graduated from Loma Linda University in 1925. He later opened his general practice in Burbank, where he treated patients for 47 years. Pratt retired in 1974 at the age of 77.
He had been on staff at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. At Behrens Memorial Hospital, now called Verdugo Hills Hospital, he was chief of staff, president of the medical staff’s board of directors, a member of the hospital’s board of trustees and a member of the hospital’s corporative board.
Pratt was also a member of the Los Angeles County Medical Assn., California Medical Assn. and the American Academy of General Practice. He is survived by his son, Douglas Pratt of Chowchilla, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Enola, died in 1988.
Visitation is planned from noon to 5 p.m. today at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd. in North Hollywood, which is handling the arrangements. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park. Donations can be made in Pratt’s name to the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry Scholarship Fund.
