SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Deadline Is Near for Year-Round School

Parents in the Capistrano Unified School District who wish to enroll their children in Harold Ambuehl Elementary School’s year-round program have until 4 p.m. Thursday to file applications.
Students who live in the school’s attendance area are automatically enrolled, but children from throughout the district can also attend the school. If more students from outside the attendance area apply than there are openings, a lottery will be held Friday.
Parents who live outside the attendance area must provide transportation for their children to the school.
At the school, students attend class for nine-week sessions and then have three weeks of vacation, as opposed to the traditional nine-month session followed by a three-month summer vacation.
