COUNTYWIDE : Man, 26, Dies After Motorcycle Crash

A Ventura man died Sunday of injuries he suffered when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a parked car, police reported.
Stephen Shawn Powers, 26, died at 11:11 a.m. at Ventura County Medical Center, Ventura County Deputy Coroner Mitch Breese said.
Powers suffered extensive head injuries when he hit a parked car on Harbor Boulevard near Seaward Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
According to police, Powers was driving fast and failed to negotiate a curve. He was not wearing a helmet and may have been drinking, police said.
