Child Dies After Truck Hits Him in Driveway

An 18-month-old toddler died Sunday after his father accidentally ran over him while backing a truck out of the family’s driveway in Panorama City, police said. Travis Namay died at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Los Angeles Police Officer Joanna Needham said.

The boy’s father, Alan Namay, 33, was backing his truck out of his driveway in the 14600 block of Limedale Street about 10:30 a.m. and did not see the boy, Needham said. “They were all leaving for a baseball game,” Needham said. “Evidently, the mom went in the house to get something, and the child got behind the truck.”
