MISSION VIEJO : Variety Show to Be in Sign Language
- Share via
A vaudeville-style variety show performed entirely in American Sign Language is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Saddleback College’s McKinney Theatre.
Called “Quiet Zone Theater,” performers from Saddleback, Golden West and Rancho Santiago colleges will do original skits and interpretations of popular songs. Interpreters will be available for the hearing audience.
Organizers said the performance is not only to provide entertainment for the hearing-impaired community but to introduce the hearing population “to the eloquence and expressiveness of sign language.”
Tickets are $10. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call (714) 582-4656. Hearing-impaired callers with TDD devices may call (714) 362-0822.
