FULLERTON — Junior shortstop Charlotte Wiley, who led the Cal State Fullerton softball team in batting, runs batted in, doubles and home runs, has been dismissed from the team, Titan Coach Judi Garman said.
“We had major philosophical differences that couldn’t be resolved,” Garman said. “It was better that we go our separate ways.”
Wiley was batting .467 (21 for 45) with 11 RBIs, three doubles and three home runs in 16 games for Fullerton (20-7). She was dismissed from the team Sunday night after the Titans lost a doubleheader to Fresno State.
Garman also said that utility player Yvette Hernandez, who is suffering from a shoulder injury, might be out for the season. Hernandez played in 17 games, 11 as a starter.
