LONG BEACH — The McDonnell Douglas West Personnel Community Service Board has presented Long Beach City College with $30,000 to purchase equipment to improve the strength and agility of disabled individuals.
The money is earmarked for the college’s Adapted Physical Education Associates, a group within the college’s foundation that provides equipment to the adapted physical education program.
This is the second gift of its type. Last year, the McDonnell Douglas employee group donated $27,000 for the purchase of a computerized treadmill.
McDonnell Douglas West distributes monies donated by employees to improve the quality of life in the community.
