An Altadena man sought as a suspect in last week’s abduction and molestation of an 11-year-old girl was in custody Thursday after he surrendered to authorities.
Vartan Boyadjian, 24, was wanted in connection with the alleged kidnaping of an Altadena girl, said Deputy George Ducoulombier of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Boyadjian, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered late Wednesday afternoon at the sheriff’s Altadena Station and was booked on suspicion of kidnaping and of committing sex crimes against a child, the deputy said. He was being held at the Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. A maintenance worker found the girl last Sunday near the swing sets at Jackie Robinson Park, officials said.
