Iraq heads into the postwar era with more than 100 (the Pentagon reports 137) of its military and civilian aircraft on the ground in Iran. It is not clear whether the aircraft were piloted by Iraqi deserters or sent to Iran for safekeeping, nor is it known how many are still airworthy. Here is a rundown of the aircraft:
25 SU-24 Fencers
24 Mirage F-1s
12 MIG-29 Fulcrums
5 MIG-25 Foxbats
2 IL-76 Adnan
Several AN-12 Cub tankers
Several IL-76 Candid
Several TU-154s
Several unidentified military and civilian transports were also included
