Jeffrey S. Klein has been named president of the Los Angeles Times San Fernando Valley and Ventura County editions, David Laventhol, Times publisher and chief executive, announced. Klein is now assistant to the publisher.
Klein will replace Jeffrey S. Hall, who has been named special assistant to Richard T. Schlosberg III, group vice president-newspapers, for The Times’ parent company, Times Mirror.
“Jeff Hall has made an important contribution to The Times as the first president of the Valley/Ventura editions,” Laventhol said. “I am confident that Jeff Klein will be a strong successor in this crucial competitive area.”
Klein, 37, will direct all of the business operations of the Valley and Ventura County editions and will report to Lawrence M. Higby, senior vice president, consumer marketing.
