Oil: Crude closed at $21.92 per barrel, up 70 cents, on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Dow Industrials: The average of 30 industrials climbed 20.05 to 2,830.69, ending the week with a net gain of 100 points.
Credit Markets: Bond prices rose on optimism about the Treasury’s successful quarterly auction and signs that the Federal Reserve may ease interest rates further.
Metals: Gold prices advanced on New York’s Commodity Exchange with bullion settling at $370.10 an ounce, up $2.30 from Thursday.
Currency: The dollar advanced in Europe but was mixed in domestic dealings.
