Houston Cougars quarterback David Klingler was named winner of the Sammy Baugh Award as the nation’s top collegiate quarterback. The Touchdown Club of Columbus, Ohio, announced the selection, which will be presented Feb. 15. Klinger finished fifth in the polling for the 1990 Heisman Trophy. The junior quarterback set 33 NCAA records as the Cougars finished 10-1.
