Koch Catches Flak: Former New York mayor Ed Koch, who was voted out as mayor 16 months ago, is losing his Sunday morning public-affairs show on WCBS-TV after station executives reached an agreement to buy out the rest of his contract. A WCBS official said that Koch was dropped because of “different approaches to the broadcast.” Koch’s explanation was that “they found me too controversial.” There had been some prickly exchanges between Koch, 66, and guests on the show. Koch, who can still dabble in journalism in his column in the New York Post and a radio talk show, says his settlement with WCBS was “very satisfactory.”
