For Better Living to Sell Its Plastics Subsidiary to Myers

In a move to concentrate on the precast-concrete business, For Better Living Inc. announced Tuesday that it has signed a letter of intent to sell its Associated Plastics Inc. subsidiary.
Myers Electric Products Inc. of Montebello has agreed to buy the plastics firm for $5.5 million. The deal is expected to close by the end of April.
“We really want to focus our management capacity on the precast-concrete business,” said William Durham, president of For Better Living.
The company, based in San Juan Capistrano, is the maker of concrete electrical vaults and other custom concrete products through its Quikset Concrete subsidiary. It also publishes two sports magazine, Surfer and Powder.
