LSI Logic Corp.: The Milpitas, Calif., computer chip maker said it lost $45.5 million in its fourth quarter, compared to a $1.7-million loss in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 33% to a record $184 million. For the year, losses totaled $32.9 million, compared to a $24.9-million loss in 1989. Revenue for the year totaled $655.5 million, up 20%. The company took a pretax charge of $44 million in the fourth quarter to rework its manufacturing network and improve profitability.
