IT’S NOT accidental that the Nostalgic Aviator feels a little like an airplane hangar. The gallery/shop is decorated with planes hanging from the high ceiling and a mural on one wall depicting an old-time airfield.
The sky’s the limit when it comes to stock: wooden and scale-model planes, World War I and II planes and posters, jewelry, original art, neon, books, model-plane (and blimp) kits from all over the world and Van Nuys artist Terry Callahan’s hand-painted leather jackets in the style favored and made popular by World War II flyers.
The Nostalgic Aviator, 8442 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood; (213) 656-4602.
