El Camino Men to Play Mt. SAC in Conference Opener

The El Camino College men’s basketball team will open South Coast Conference play on Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Warriors (16-7) will play host to Mt. San Antonio College, a team that defeated El Camino three times last season. The Mounties (12-10) have four returning starters.
Center Tony McGee leads Mt. SAC in scoring with 22 points a game and forward John Moses is second with 14 points a game.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” El Camino Coach Ron McClurkin said. “Our guys have to be mentally prepared to play because Mt. SAC is real good.”
Keishaun Darthard, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard, leads El Camino in scoring with a 17.9 average. Freshman forward Steve King is second at 14 and sophomore guard Darius Dubose averages 12.1.
Sophomore guard Mike Houck, the Warriors’ best three-point shooter, averages 11 points.
