9 Lost Cave Explorers Found Dead in N. Italy

ROME — Nine explorers who emerged from a mountain cave in northern Italy at the height of a weekend blizzard died in an avalanche as they tried to walk to safety, police said Wednesday.
Rescuers on skis aided by avalanche dogs recovered the bodies of the cave explorers, all Italians, ranging in age from 18 to 43.
