MISSION VIEJO : Council to Discuss Developer’s Lawsuit
- Share via
The City Council will hold a special meeting tonight focusing on the city’s legal problems with the Mission Viejo Co.
Most of the meeting will be held in closed session to discuss the lawsuit filed last month by the Mission Viejo Co. disputing the city’s General Plan, a blueprint for commercial and residential construction.
Several areas zoned for development under an agreement signed by the county and the developer in 1988 are set aside as open space in the General Plan.
The council will also set a date for a public hearing to discuss a proposal by Mayor Robert A. Curtis to exchange 7.2 acres of Mission Viejo Co. land earmarked for a civic center for approval of a large-scale corporate center and hotel/restaurant complex near Crown Valley Parkway.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.
